IBC - International Building Code. A unified national building code based upon years of experience and technical expertise from the organizations which created the BOCA National Building Code, ICBO's Uniform Building Code and SBCCI's Standard Building Code. First published in 2000.

Inspections - In construction where a building permit is required, it is the review of work performed by a building official. Typical inspections for pole buildings include (but are not limited to) the holes, framing and final inspections.

Insulation - Any material used in building construction to reduce heat transfer.

Interior Clearance - The vertical distance measured from the top of a finished floor to the bottom of the roof trusses.

Intermediate Bay - The distance between two primary frames within a building, other than the end frames.
